Part 1: Introducing Your Artist Archetype

This session focuses on exploring the concept of different Artist Archetypes and highlights their individual distinctions and patterns of behavior.   We will also explore metaphors, symbols and examples for each archetype.  By reflecting on own your personal artist journey, a series of prompts, interactive discussions, and exploring other clues, you will recognize which Artist Archetype most manifests through you.  We close this session on a treasure hunt for images that will be used in Class 2 to access the power of this archetype.

Part 2:  Embodying Your Artist Archetype

In this hands-on session, you will create a mixed-media art card that represents your Artist Archetype. We begin with insights, “aha” moments and synchronicities that occurred throughout the week.  Working collectively and synergistically, you will next create a 6” x 8” visual representation of your Artist Archetype using a combination of selected imagery, paints, markers, fabric, paper. adhesive, etc.  As Caroline Myss states, “symbols are the gateway to the soul”.  So, too, the completed images provide access to our artist’s DNA allowing full creative expression and a deeper connection to the creative soul.
